Filters

On the left hand side of the search you can also use Filters to narrow down your search. 
 
TIP: We highly recommend using these after you have entered and narrowed down by your key search criteria.
 
 
 
 

Role type

You can search by the type of role you are wishing fill and choose a candidate who is looking for Contract, Permanent or Temporary work (this must have been marked on their record within the Candidate Details section.
 

Availability

Here, you can specify when the candidate needs to be available from, for example if you have a Vacancy which will be available in 6 weeks but there is a candidate currently working through a 4 week notice period, instead of automatically excluding Placed Candidates, it will return those whose Availability Date matches up with a Start Date.
 

Most Recent Status

Most Recent Status refers to Candidates within a Shortlist so you can find people who are currently at the following Shortlist stages: Selected, Submitted or offered an Interview or Offer. 
 
 
 

Hot Lists

You can select a pre-existing Hotlist and then Search within it. If you have found 50 Candidates who are Business Analysts and have been added to a Hotlist, you would select the Hotlist. This would display the candidates. This list can then be searched on the specific requirements for the role being worked on. Analysts.
 
 
 

Rate and Salary

You can input the rate and salary from the Vacancy here to narrow down candidates within the correct salary/rate range for the role you are working on. The fields that it is looking at when entering a range is Salary Low or Salary High that can be entered on the General tab on the Contact record or Rate Low or Rate High. It uses the actual numeric value (i.e. it doesn't use the normalised base currency or convert anything), if the field says 50,000 then that's what it uses.  It does not take into consideration the current salary/current rate fields.
 
It then queries the range you've searched - for example, 40,000 - 50,000. 
If a candidate has either their low or high salary figure applicable to that range they will return. 
A candidate with 30,000 - 60,000 would show.  As would 35,000-45,000, or 45,000-70,000. A candidate who is completely outside, would not return.  i.e. 20,000-30,000 or 55,000-65,000. As no part of their range of acceptable salary is within or crosses one side of the range searched for.
 

Refinements

After you have built your search query using the toolbar, you can use Refinements to clarify what you need. As an example, if it has returned 200 Candidates, you can look in Refinements and see how many of those candidates have a certain Tag or Skill in order to narrow down your search.
 
From the Refinements sidebar, you can select multiple Tags or Skills and choose from the standard AND, OR and NOT clauses which will add them to a Group.
